Revitalizácia jazykov vo vzťahu k etnickej identite

Revitalisation of languages in relation to the ethnical identity.

The notion of ethnicity is linked to a variety of features that are specific for a particular ethnic unit. And yet several of them seem to be of a universal nature, e. g., culture including religion, language, writing system, etc. In addition, the content of ethnicity reflects historical and political circumstances and the actual needs of a particular community. Despite recent predictions of a decline of the importance of ethnicity, the ethnic and linguistic revitalization tends to be very much alive not only in Europe (e. g. Belgium, Spain, Canada or in the Balkans) but also in the huge Pacific area, especially in Polynesia and elsewhere.
